Paix Dieu triple 25Cl

Bière blonde forte très levurée. On recommande.

Orval -1 year 33Cl

Amber Trappist. Orval beer is a high fermentation beer. The ageing process adds a fruity note, which strikes a subtle balance between the beer’s full-bodied yet complex flavour and bitterness. The beer was first brewed in 1931 and owes its unparalleled taste to the quality of the water, the hops and the yeast used. The brewery has selected very aromatic and unique hop varieties, which hark back to the first brewmaster of Orval, who hailed from Bavaria. The beer’s aromas are very pronounced while maintaining the right level of bitterness thanks to the English method of dry hopping. The various stages of fermentation – combined fermentation with the original yeast and with wild yeast, followed by fermentation in the bottle – mean the beer must age for some time and requires numerous quality controls.

Duvel destilled 2023 2 cl

10y. Bourbon and sherry cask. Finished on Marsala cask.

Aged for five years in French ex-Cognac casks, EDDU SILVER L’ORIGINAL was the first edition in the EDDU range. With the launch of Eddu Silver in 2002, the Distillerie des Menhirs “reinvented” whisky by creating the first ever buckwheat whisky in the world. Far from being productive, buckwheat crops yield four times less than barley (12 to 15 quintals of buckwheat per hectare compared with 60 to 80 quintals of barley per hectare). Its alcoholic yield is half that of barley. “IGP Whisky de Bretagne” means that every aspect of the production process, from grinding to ageing, is done in Brittany in our distillery.

What is whiskey?
The alcohol

The alcohol is made from grain. This has matured for at last 3 years and one day in an oak barrel. Contains a minimum alcohol percentage of 40% ABV.

Scottish whiskey

When it is produced (distilled) in Scotland and matured in Scotland. For Scottish single malt whiskey it must also have been bottled in Scotland.

Grain whiskey

This is made from different types of grain: wheat, corn, barley, rue, etc. The distillation proces usually takes place via a so called column still.

Single malt whiskey

Is made exclusively from one type of grain: barley. Distillation is done via pot stills. Usually distilled twice sometimes 3 times. Blended whiskey is a mixture of grain whiskey and single malt. The percentage of each type in the bottle is not stated. The number of different single malts used is also not blended. Blended malt whisky is a blend of several single malts. Which whiskey and what percentage of content is not stated.

Bourbon barrel

Maturation in barrels are made of American oak in which Bourbon whiskey previously maturedin sherry barrel. Maturation in barrels in which sherry has previously matured. American or Spanish oak.

Peat

Peat has a special influence on taste and smell. This raw material is used in the production process to prevent the germination of the moist barley. The smoke from the heated peat is absorbed into the barley and later gives the whiskey its typical pallet. Depending on the location where the peat is extracted, the amount of peat and the duration of heating the peat taste and smell becomes more or less strong and typically
